Will I receive a Medicare rebate?
Psychologist/dietitian services receive a Medicare rebate if provided under an Eating Disorder Treatment Plan. There will be an additional gap payment on top of the Medicare rebate. General Practitioner consults will also be funded by Medicare with an additional gap payment.
Do I participate in both a day program and individual consults?
This will be a collaborative decision between you and your clinical team and it may be that you attend both a day program and have outpatient appointments with your clinicians. If you are attending the Intensive Treatment Program, this will occur 5 days a week for several weeks and during this time, all outpatient appointments will be suspended.
How do I get an assessment?
Fill out the self-referral form or see your GP
Do I need a referral?
A referral is required by your GP or you can make an appointment with an Esus Centre GP for the referral you need.
What can I do as a carer?
Encourage your loved one to seek help and engage in treatment toward recovery. A visit to the GP or our Esus Centre GP is your first step.
How long is the commitment?
Our team is dedicated to helping you achieve the future you want, so the expectation is for full attendance to the day program.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation fees apply to consulting services. Group programs do not attract a cancellation fee, however you are only allowed to miss one week for a valid reason due to the risk of missing important content and building on skills.
What if I can’t get a place in the program?
For those not accepted into the Esus Centre, the reasons for declining will be communicated in writing to the referrer and suggestions made for alternative treatment options.
